  1. basic? Don't worry you'll do fine. Chemistry is all about the math and theory of chemisry applied in the math, which is what makes it hard. I got Bs and Cs thus far in general chemistry but you just have to take it seriously. Really try to understand it and practice practice practice!! Chemistry is all about second nature. You have to know it by heart. Go for it, if it is for your major and you need it, then you need it. I STILL ONLY have precalc under my belt and will take calculus, but I got through chemistry. Only mistake I made was failing a quarter once because I chose the re-take option on a test I did the best on. At community college the professors are nice and give extra credit to bring your grade up.

I almost hired a tutor, but had that at school (saved me fortunately). I had online homework due and didn't have a clue. Now it is second nature to me with a year of practice. Dont worry about Bs and Cs in chem this is the top, except for geniuses who get 4.0 but who cares.

Bascially, go for it, hack at it, and have fun!

    Good luck!

  2. i took chemistry in high school and again in college and it really wasn't that bad.  you should be fine.

if your really worried, find a partner or tutor and visit the professor at office hours, that should help..

    good luck!

  3. If you need it take it.  If you don't, don't put yourself through the torture. If you have to take it practice the problems as much as possible and go to your professor right away.  You will most likely pass on good work ethic...but to get a "good" grade you will have to study hard and use all your resources.

  4. I think you can do it!!!

And if by the end, depending one your college policy, if it looks like you are still going to fail you can withdraw before the "unwithdrawable" date.

But remember to keep all your work so if/when you retake the course you have a better understanding.

    Good luck!!
