Question:

What are my housing options in Jakarta?

I've heard people talking about Kosts and it doesn't sound like I'd have much privacy. I need a cheap, decent, furnished place near Ratu Plaza office towers. How much do you think I'd have to pay in that neighborhood? Would I be able to find something easily? Are there private landlords I could rent from? Any advice on housing in Central Jakarta where the commute wouldn't be too bad to Ratu Plaza is much appreciated!

Thanks

  1. Hi,

How much is your budget? I'd say renting an apartment could be your choice for getting privacy, it's quite expensive though (at least 4 million/month excluding maintanance fee, etc) spesifically in business district area.

Call these numbers for info..one of these numbers probably is a broker, but it doesn't hurt to ask around.

    -Jakarta Residence - Kebon Kacang | 021-98689906 | daily/weekly/monthly/yearly

    -Lippo Sudirman 15th Fl. | less than US$1.500/month | 021- 92801508

-Sudirman Park (5 min walk to City Walk) | 0815-100-800-36

Check this or any other blogs for more apartment listing...

  2. Renting an apartment or a room in a private house with separate entry or lockable door is much better.

For an apartment, try Ratu Plaza Apartment (old building behind/above the mall itself) or Aston near Plaza Semanggi.

For a room in a private house, you have to drive around the area or try the ads www.pasangiklan.com. There are usually lots of private houses renting out rooms in these areas: Tanah Abang, Tulodong/Kebayoran Baru, Senayan. All of which are within close proximity to Ratu Plaza.

    Good luck!
