What are my independent and dependent variables in this situation?

Question

I am testing the affect of increased flexibility on the muscle-tendon unit's ability to function.

All subjects will be given the same physical test at the beginning of the experiment. Then, half of the subjects will be given stretching and flexibility exercises to do for 3 weeks, while the others will be asked not to stretch at all. Then at the end they will be given the same test.

What are my dependent and independent variables?

the tendons increased flexibility will depend solely on the exercises given.Your desired results or objective will only be obtained by

adherence to specific types of stretching.

The mere fact that the tendon will work according to it's purpose,without any outside stimulus speaks for  it's self.
