What are my legal right as an insurance producer?

I work with an independant producer in Arizona under his contracts with insurers and recieve 100% of the comissions for all the business i write. I have a P&C lisence what kind of situation am i exactly in by working under his contracts but reciveing full comission checks?

  1. I don't know what you mean legal rights? What is the problem you are worried about?

    If he is not paying you anything but the commission for business you write he is getting a great deal. You are creating a book of business for him. He gets the client and the renewals. If you leave his office he keeps the clients right?


  2. Silly question, IMO.  What are your legal rights as a resident of Arizona?  Last I heard, all your "rights" are spelled out in the Constitution of the United States.  

    Any rights you have with this independent, are spelled out in your contract with him.  If you're using his contracts, then  HE has all rights to your business and commissions - and any agreement with him is between you and him.  NO one here can tell you what your "rights" are, as we haven't seen your contract.
