Question:

What are my odds at getting this apartment?

So today we finally applied for our dream apartment! Pertaining to my previous question, I asked the landlady of we would possibly need a co-signer and she said the credit company she works with does not use co-signers. The thing she stressed was income requirements, which we are above and beyond. If they don't do co-signers, then maybe the credit itself isnt that important to them? Because my boyfriend and I both have no credit! Help! I am so anxious.

  1. I can tell you from experience, if you can prove income above and beyond what is required, you will get the apartment.  I have the worst credit ever, but since I can prove high income, I have never been turned down for an apartment, though I can't even get a credit card!!

  2. Try and get personal references - preferably from people you have rented through before, boarded with - similar.

If not, what about a minister, teacher, ex boss -who might be able to increase your street cred.

Finally, do you have a file of your bills showing that you have paid in full on time - you could offer to show that.
