  1. There's not much to back up the twin skipping generation idea.  Identical twins are not hereditary, but fraternal twins are.

  2. Well, you might have a slightly increased chance of twins if you carry the genetic marker that makes you release two eggs at a time during any given cycle. That results in fraternal twins. However, you probably won't have twins the first time you have a child, it's usually after having a baby that the trait makes itself known, which is why it's more likely for older women and second(or more) pregnancies result in twins. My grandma had twin siblings, but had none herself, and none of my aunts or uncles had them, but they all had relatively few children compared to my grandma. My other grandma had twin sisters as well. My boyfriends dad is a twin(but he's identical and it doesn't count, lol). I have a daughter, she's a singleton, but she has grandpa's blue eyes(no one else in the family has them), so I'm always wondering if I manage to conceive another one if I would end up with twins. Time will tell, lol.

    Good luck!

  3. Doesn't matter if your husband has twins on his side or not.  The woman is the one who decides how many eggs are released and how many babies are born.  I'd say your odds are slightly elevated, but not significantly so.

  4. The odds are pretty good.
