Question:

What are my options for DSL and WiFi?

I already have the DSL modem that came with my AT&T DSL and I'm not sure if I need to get a new one when I switch to Sonic.net? And I have a Netgear WiFi router to my laptop.

Can I use any DSL Modem with any ISP, and if so should I order an internal DSL modem or not in my new computer?

Are there combo DSL modems and WiFi routers?

  1. I think you should be able to your your DSL modem with any internet provider that uses DSL, but just to make sure you should contact Sonic.net first and ask them.  I also have AT&T DSL.  I don't know what modem you have, but I have the Gateway modem $79.99 and it is a modem and a rounter combo.  This one works for up to 10 computers.

You should make sure if the modem you have also is a modem/router combo and then ask Sonic.net if you can use your modem or have to buy a new one.  If there is no number to contact Sonic.net send them an email with your question.
