i cant find any sites on this.

i need to know about rights concerning teachers/admin searching through your private things, and if your right to remain quiet until you have a lawyer present is withstanding in the circumstances that you have been accused of something, or being questioned on anything?

  1. What do you bring to school that you need a lawyer present while your locker is being searched?                                        V e r y   i n t e r e s t i n g !

The US Supreme Court and the Texas courts have on numerous occasions sided with school districts regarding drug testing  and other searches of students.

This might help you understand the issue.  If there is REASON to think something needs to be searched, it is legal.  If you think about the need for a school to be safe (and considering all the problems in today's schools), I think it is a HUGE mistake to think that a student has a right to privacy.

  3. If you are not an adult or if you are in a high school or middle school, you may have no right to privacy at school.  Searches of lockers, backpacks, purses, and pockets may be conducted without a warrant or probable cause.

If you are under suspicion for a crime, it is wise to remain silent and to tell the teacher or administrator that you want to wait until your parent or your attorney is present.

If you are accused of a violation of school rules, but not in violation of a crime, you may want to answer clearly and honestly.
