  1. Negative ions are atoms that have more electrons then protons, resulting in a negative charge.  In any element the number of protons is unchanging (that is what defines the element) but atoms can gain or lose electrons and become charged ions.  Having less electrons than protons make the ion positive.

At any moment your body has positive, negative and nuetrally charged atoms and radicals.  It is the diference in charge that allows any chemical change in you body to take place.  The are involved in every function your body has, brathing, digestion, relaying messages through out your body and brain.  They are a normal part of being alive.

Free radicals are thought to be involved in the aging process and a free radical will have a charge.  SUpposedly vitimin C and other health products can 'clean ' your body of dangerous free radicals.  This is unproven but widely believed.

  2. Negative ions are odorless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in certain environments. Think mountains, waterfalls, and beaches

  3. negative ions are ions with a negative charge, so an atom that has an extra electron.  They don't do anything to the body per say, they exist in our bodies, in water, and in our cells, but they don't have any particular effect on our bodies any more than postive ions or neutral ions.

  4. negative ions- atoms that have one more electron that the normal atom does.

it doesn't do anything to the body because the body itself has many negative ions yet still we don't notice it because it has no effect on us. many believe that it can cure diseases such as skin cancers. they just remove the negative ion strip from the sanitary napkin and  apply it to their skin. but according to scientists it is only pseudoscience
