  1. Orbs can be caused by several different things.  The most common are a speck of dust in the field of view, or a small object close to the camera (like a bug on the lens).  A bug on the lens will be out of focus (so it will look like a blob of light) and can appear to move quickly across the field of view.

EVPs are caused by a pattern-matching error in the brain.  The human brain has evolved to spot patterns in things and form abstract connections.  It's why a series of lines on a piece of paper can be interpreted as a word that represents an emotion, and why two dots and a curved line can be interpreted as a face.  It's not hard to see why a bunch of random sounds on a tape recorder could be interpreted as a voice (especially when someone is told what to listen for).

These are just the two likely explanations for the phenomena.  I don't have proof that the supernatural *doesn't* exist (nor does anyone else).  I'm just putting forth two logical possibilities (this section *is* under the "science" category after all).  Before I get the storm of thumbs-downs for not proclaiming that they are - beyond a doubt - caused by ghosts, consider that refusing to consider non-paranormal explanations is also a very closed-minded stance.

  2. Some say that orbs are ghosts/spirits, but many others believe that they are angels or perhaps your spirit guide. Guess it depends if you believe in angels.

By the way, angels are not the same as ghosts/spirits. Angels are chosen and cannot ever reincarnate as a human, although they can take the shape of a human and let themselves be seen *mostly when we are in some kind of danger and in need of life or death help, but we have no idea that they are angels*

As for the  Electronic voice phenomena (EVP), they are sections of static noise on the radio or electronic recording which some listeners believe sound like voices speaking words, and which paranormal investigators interpret as the voices of ghosts or spirits. Recording EVP has become a technique of those who attempt to contact the souls of dead loved ones or during ghost hunting activities. In addition to deceased spirits, various paranormal investigators say that EVP could be produced by psychic echoes from the past, psychokinesis unconsciously produced

  3. Orbs are very controversial.  Some believe they are one way that a spirit can make itself known in a video or photo.

EVP is a disembodied voice that shows up on recordings using regular tape recorders or digital recorders.  You ask questions and when you play back your recording, there are answers to them sometimes.  And contrary to what some might say, it is excellent proof that something is out there.

  4. evp= Electronic Voice Phonaminal, I believe, means u can't hear what goin on around you but it picks up all the noise you wouldn't normaly hear by the naked ear.

and orbs could be the sign of a spirt, or dust or light reflecting of a object.

  5. Orbs are nothing more than dust. People who say they are paranormal phenomena are just being silly.

EVP is "electronic voice phenomena."  It is a voice captured on a recorder. It has significance because there was no one around saying these words, and no one in the recording session heard them with their ears.

  6. Orbs are a ball of energy from a ghost. EVP is like a recording you could catch from a ghost's voice.

  7. Orbs appear as small circles of light in a photograph, they are caused by the light of the flash being reflected off small bits of dust or droplets of water.

EVPs are white noise produced by static that may sound like a few spoken words if you use your imagination.

Neither of these things are considered scientific evidence that ghosts are present just as there is no scientific evidence that ghosts even exist.

  8. Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) are sections of static noise on the radio or electronic recording which some listeners believe sound like voices speaking words, and which paranormal investigators interpret as the voices of ghosts or spirits.[1] Recording EVP has become a technique of those who attempt to contact the souls of dead loved ones or during ghost hunting activities. In addition to deceased spirits, various paranormal investigators say that EVP could be produced by psychic echoes from the past, psychokinesis unconsciously produced by living people, and aliens. According to parapsychologist Konstantin Raudive, who popularized the idea,[2] EVP are typically brief, usually the length of a word or short phrase.[3

    orbs are spirits

  9. Orbs....

Well the orbs you see in pictures on the internet or on your own pictures that look like this...

    http://www.ceticismoaberto.com/news/medi...

are not paranormal at all. They are the reflection of your camera's flash on dirt, dust, pollen, moisture, and any number of microscopic things in the air. That's it. Closed case. Anyone who tries to tell you they are paranormal is wrong and ignorant and obviously uneducated in how their camera works ( and I'm being completely honest with all of my knowledge I have)

However, there are genuine paranormal orbs as well. These ones look like balls of light that have solid mass, a definite flight path, and can be seen with the human eye (unlike the ones i gave you the link to) They are very rare to encounter and it is difficult to get a picture because you are so fascinated by seeing them.

EVPs are electronic voice phenomena. They are recordings, usually captured on a digital voice recording device. They cannot be heard by the human ear in person, only on the recording.

    Hope this helps!
