What are original ways to help others?

I want to start a service project that does something unique for people who are in need (the homeless, the poor, people w/ disabilities). Do you have any ideas?

Make people aware of the fact that there are less fourtunate than you or them. From there people will hopefully see the need of help these people. Just be as kind-hearted to those in need. Just a smile and a simply hello means the world to them.:-)

What a great thing you are doing.

I like to make hats and scarves for the homeless.  I use a knitting loom from any craft store and it's really easy.  I just call shelters and they tell me  when and where I can donate them.  I've also made baby blankets for homeless and hospitals because some of the little ones don't have anything warm at home either.
