What are our chances of seeing typical British wildlife in September?

We are travelling to the UK for the first time in September from Australia and just like most visitors to Australia want to see Kangaroos and Koalas we are interested in seeing some of the animals like hedgehogs, moles and squirrels that we don't have over here. Do we have any chance of seeing them in the wild?

well hedgehogs are nocturnal, so you would have to stay up all night in a forest to find one. Moles are pretty elusive and hard to find so good luck with that one. Well Squirrels are just everywhere so there is a good chance you would come across one, they are a right pest

hedgehogs and moles are difficult for anyone to see (one's nocturnal and the other lives underground) ... grey squirrels are all over the place but red squirrels are difficult to see too because they're endangered and naturally shy and reclusive

they do a programme on BBC TV each year called Springwatch and go to fantastic lengths to show you British wildlife ...  they get some amazing footage but at the same time when you see how difficult it is for them to find and film the animals, birds etc it brings it home to you just how dedicated you have to be to to study them ... they've also started doing a similar thing in the autumn and the websites for these two programmes are worth looking at

I'm sure if I came to Australia I wouldn't find kangaroos and koalas in natural habitats that easily unless I went to a game park or some other protected area ... there is a very good place in Kent near Canterbury called Wildwood that specialises in British wildlife

Come to  Cornwall  there is an abundance of wildlife all the year through. We have Dolphins, seals and deers and some of the most distinct wildlife found anywhere in the UK.As well as  rabbits, Hedgehogs,squirrels and Badgers.

Not much chance of hedgehogs and moles as hedgehogs are nocturnal and moles are underground...most woodland areas have squirrels....go to Scotland if you want to see red deer, dolphins and even whales.....
