  1. they are fighting the terrorist group- FARC

  2. They are fighting Las Farc who have kidnapped people and held them for ransom or political gains. They want the freedom to go where they want to go in their country w/o fear of being killed or kidnapped. Las Farc has long ago been proven to be the major cocaine mover in Colombia. That they murder is also not in question. Las Farc STARTED with the lofty ideals stated above.. However 40 years of absolute power has corrupted absolutely. Las Farc are nothing more than a bunch of thugs.

  3. This is true for any of the south american countries where the Coca plant is grown:

Drug dealing needs protection from either the police, the DEA or the military in order to work while the law enforcement doesn't affect them.

After 67 years of terrorism, you can't think that the Colombian oligarchy is the reason for terrorism. Terrorism like Drug smuggling is a profitable business. On one side you purify a chemical from a plant for US $ 5 a gram (pure) and sell it retail in the USA at US $ 120 per gram (60% pure), that's a  4,000% gross profit. On the other side, terrorists get big cut from this cake for keeping away the law enforcement plus another big profit from the randsome money of all the people they kidnapped.

They are both crooks and the main reason that the terrorist disguised themselves as a political opposition is to avoid maximum penalty in jail when caught (the NARCO's don't have that aliby).

There's no Terrorism like the FARC in Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela and the Guyanas. Is it that Colombia is the only country that has Oligarchy? Think about it.

  4. The FARC is a revolutionary movement that seeks to overthrow the Colombian oligarchy and regain power for the socially excluded and the poor, which are the majority like in most countries.  The FARC originated after the Colombian oligarchy asassinated GAYTAN, a leader of the poor which wanted to reform the country.  The FARC is the oldest guerrilla movement in the world dating back to the 1940's.  The FARC is said to have committed crimes ranging from killings to drug dealing though they will deny it.  Many people believe the government has committed the crimes and then made the FARC responsible.  The FARC is very controversial,  some people oppose it and other support it.  Some view them as terrorists and others view them as heroes.
