  1. I think he was a fool for some of the stunts he got up to.   Especially when he had his baby in his arms when teasing the croc's, she could have been killed.     He was not a good role model for people as they would try the same idiot pranks.

  2. I think he was a courageous, outgoing person who was trying to help the world, though sometimes a little ruthless with his stunts... He had good morals, and made good use of his time on earth in helping the enviroment!

  3. I agree with mmdjaajl, well at least I did.   I first thought he was a clown, but in fact he was a very clever man.  He knew, probably from his wife but maybe guessed himself what stereotype would sell big in the USA. So he pushed it for all it was worth.

His shows were on American TV a good while before they appeared on Australian TV because the networks here thought that Australians would think he was a w@nker.  Well I did.  When I first saw him I thought he was an idiot.

The result is that a lot of Americans imagine Australians wear khaki all the time, say "Crikey" a lot and spend their time dodging spiders, snakes and crocodiles.  You can see the result here with all the questions about dangerous spiders and that kind of nonsense.

  4. Steve Irwin was one of the most passionate men that I have ever seen.

Whether you loved his over the top antics or not, he certainly did what he set out to do, and that was to bring attention to the things he loved the most, Australia and it's beautiful creatures and habitiat, along with many other creatures all around the world.

I admired anyone who is passionate about anything.

    Steve Irwin was certainly that.

  5. Steve was okay, he was a bit of  a wally sometimes but he did seem genuine in his love of wildlife.

However I can't stand that horrible attention seeking wife of his. Is there anything she won't do for a few more minutes of air time? And it's disgraceful how she expoits that kid Bindi.

  6. I ahted his shows but, I actually liked him.

I think he is a legend.

I'm actually glad about how he died.

I think he's happy he died, in a way that connected him to what he loved, Animals.

    He WON'T be forgotten.

    I completely agree with you.

  7. One of my favourite Australian icons. A true legend. Never will be forgotten.

He has made wildlife interesting for many.

  8. Steve Irwin. Was privileged to be bought up amongst wild life and had great courage wisdom and a Vision passed down to him from his Dad. He was also a showman a business man A loving father and husband and cared deeply for wild life.Unfortunatly he made a few mistakes, just like we all do.so he was very human. The enviroment was his passion.

  9. Its difficult to say whether Steve was passionate about wild life or was passionate about spotting things that would bring him lots of lovely money.

He would appear to have been a much better known (and in American terms, loved) figure that here in his native Australia.

He did us actual Australians no favours by his caricature of the stereotypical Australian personality that Americans seem to believe is us.

  10. He's dead, I get annoyed when people say bad things about someone who is dead.... like what the h**l? He's gone, he can't change now.

To the person that thinks he's a bad role model, how many people have a crocodile in their backyard that they can throw their baby at?

He loved his work and died doing what he loved. He took risks and he knew it. He understood the risks, he always said that.
