What are pigeons main food source in a city?

other than scraps form humans, what else could they indulge on?

And where are all of hte dead pigeons' bodies lay?

Mostly seeds for non-human food - corn, oats, peas, seeds off trees, whatever is growing.

Dead stuff gets scavenged pretty fast.

They probably just eat out of garbage cans.  Oh and the little old ladies who sit on benches and throw out bird feed for them :)
