what are pigments found in plants and please explain the different types of pigments

  1. In plants the most important pigments are the chlorophylls, chlorophyll a and b being the most common but there are also carotenoids, all of which absorb light in different wavelengths to be used in photosynthesis. Other pigments such as anthocyanins are colorants meant to attract pollinators or animals to disperse their seeds. There are others, but I believe these are the most common.
