  1. The Segrada Familia is AWESOME, and if you are into swords, there is a famous sword factory in Toledo that is pretty cool too.

  2. Madrid, Salamanca, Toledo, Andalusia.... Barcelona is beautiful but expensive, Basque Country is ugly, Galicia is wonderful. Valencia very beautiful.

  3. Madrid: old city center with the royal palace, puerta del sol, plaza mayor and all the small cafes and bars; paseo de la castellana with the prado museum, bernabeu stadium, parque del retiro... just walk all over madrid, feel the nice and friendly atmosphere and the different life-styles in the different parts of madrid (madrid de los borbones, madrid de los austrias, barrio de salamanca, madrid centro, chamartin and plaza castilla...)

I would recommend specially a site that few people know about: templo de debod, near plaza de españa, not far from madrid centro. It is an old egyptian temple in the middle of a park in madrid (parque del oeste), and has one of the most beautiful sights of the royal palace and almudena cathedral. Very romantic to go there at sunset...

If you like, madrid has a wonderful night life known worldwide, but be careful of what you do... You have to look and inform yourself before just wandering out into the night. Remember that madrid has night-life during the whole week, but most bars and clubs open and get filled with people thursday, friday and saturday nights. Night life normally begins at about 11pm at the soonest, and bars open until 3am or early morning (6am) depending on the part of madrid. Spain's drinking age in 18... You cannot drink out in the street unless at a bar terrace... You cannot buy alcohol after 10pm...

Also get information on what time and what days stores and restaurants open... most stores close on sunday and during siesta... (2pm-5pm)... restaurants serve lunch or dinner after a certain hour... lunch is usually around 1-4pm, dinner 9-12pm...

    Have fun!!!!
