  1. poachers are hunters who kill animals that are not in season or they  dont have license to kill, and most eat them or leave them ad take their hornsor teeth.

  2. bad people..

  3. poachers are illegal animal trappers that hunt, trap, kill and sell the body parts of animals. often endangered ones.

    they are awful people. :(

  4. Poachers are cruel, that is what they are.

  5. they sell animal parts such as tusks

  6. poachers are killers, and after they kill an animal they take and sell the the valuble items on the animal

  7. Poachers are illegal hunters that use the body parts of the animal that they have killed to sell. Here are some examples: Rhino horns are sold for traditional Chinese medicine. Elephant tusks are sold for ivory (expensive). Tiger claws are, also sold for Chinese medicine. Also, most poaching goes on in Africa. Poaching is horrible! Don't do it!

  8. A poacher is usually consider some one that takes game animals illegally, out of season or with illegal techniques.  All animals except exotic species are protected by law.  So killing or capturing any animal, except the exotics, is illegal.

Some people eat what they kill.  But most are in it for money.  They sell whatever they can to make a few dollars.  If the animal is not taken for food, it is usually left where it died.  If the poachers wants hide or parts then the animal is usally left where it dies.

  9. A loose definition of a poacher is someone who hunts or fishes illegally.  This can include hunting out of season, without the necessary permits, exceeding bag limits, using prohibited weapons or ammunition (or nets and fishing tackle), exceeding the bag limit, shooting before or after legal hours, hunting in a prohibited area, or many other offenses.  Some poachers eat their kill or sell all or part of it (itself illegal), leave it where they kill it (also illegal in many areas), or just keep one part of it, like the antlers or hide.  One estimate says that the state of Pennsylvania loses more deer to poachers than to hunters, a staggering number when you realize that Pennsylvania is one of the top deer-producing states.

When you read the stories about Robin Hood, you should know that the king legally owned all the game in the forest, and poachers were hanged when caught.  Private landowners in Great Britain, in the 1600s, could have the hand chopped off of any poacher they caught on their land.  This include those fishing for trout or salmon without permission.

The face of poaching has changed in recent years.  It has gone high-tech, with poachers using airplanes and radios to locate and drive animals to poachers with fully automatic weapons.  For decades, the typical african poacher was someone who set a snare to catch an animal for food.  Now it is a big money proposition, with the greater controls on ivory and rhino-horn trading.  Instead of a game warden patrolling an area, there are now squads of heavily-armed men to pursue the poachers, and in some areas suspected poachers may be  shot without warning.  This is in response to organized assasination attempts on the lives of wardens.
