What are points............?

What's with these points and levels on Yahoo, I know it's a pretty stupid question but it would be useful to know!

i am curios to when i am in level one

just be active-answer questions(plus 2 points),vote for the best answer(1 point),ask(minus 5 points) and when you're answer became the best answer (plus 10 points)

you will have to reach the target points to be in the next level

The higher your level, the more often you can participate and ask questions.  At level one you are limited to a certain number of questions you can ask or answer, but the higher your level, the more quickly you can ask and answer.

The Answer Queen explained it all, but I would like to add that you don't "get" anything for the points except for the satisfaction of reaching another level, but a lot of people on here take it very seriously.

You get 2 points for every question you answer.

You get 10 points for the best answer of that question.

You get 5 points for choosing a best answer of your question.

It takes 5 points away when you ask a question.

When you get a certain amount of points you get to level 2, then you have to get a certain amount to get to level 3 etc.
