  1. A Poltergeist is a ghost.  Usually it references ghosts that show their presence through noisemaking (like screams and scratches) and knocking things over; rather than the ones that show themselves through sight or through talking to a person.

I could not find a dictionary entry for polgerhist, and I assume it was probably just a misspelling.  Poltergeist was the closest word I could think you might be looking for.

  2. polkergeist??an unknown entity(spirit)that has the ability to communicate through electricity...turn on and off lights,t.vs,.

  3. Poltergeists are supposedly spirits or ghosts that interact with people and objects in the world.

Since you asked this in the science category, the scientific consensus is that poltergeists (and ghosts, vampires, werewolves, etc) are not real.

Scientists believe poltergeists sightings are caused by numerous factors:

    1. special physical phenomenons, such as charged air particles, electromagnetic fields, static electricity, etc

    and/or

    2. Self delusion and hoaxes by those who report ghost sightings and so called "ghost hunters"

Scientists do not accept the supernatural explanation - which is that poltergeists are ghosts of the dead, etc

  4. A Poltergeist is supposedly a 'Mischievous Spirit' (or Ghost) that likes to throw things around and scare the living daylights out of people.

  5. Poltergeist - (from German poltern, meaning to rumble or make noise, and Geist, meaning "ghost", "spirit", or "embodiment") denotes a spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects.

Poltergeist activity tends to occur around a single person called an agent or a focus.  Foci are often, but not limited to, pubescent children.

The "poltergeist effect" is a form of psychokinesis generated by a living human mind (that of the agent), and it is an outward manifestation of psychological trauma.

This could mean either the agent himself has fabricated such a belief/experience, or the poltergeist may have been discovered by people other than the principal agent himself and passed along to him(with or without his knowledge)
