Let me tell you what my old American Politics professor used to call it at Washington University. (He was a former CIA agent)

He said, "Politics is the art of getting someone to do something they wouldn't otherwise do."

Some have referred to human beings as “the political animal.” Politics occur when two or more people align themselves. You can feel the dynamic of people aligning with or against one another in any room, even (especially) when the room is stocked with close friends and family.

Politics gets bigger and bigger as leaders of communities, states, and nations align citizens toward common goals. But politics does not have to wait for a government or an election to happen. It’s happening in this forum right now. In fact all politics begin small, even though national and global politics become so massive they seem beyond the affect of an individual. But they only seem that way.

Here are some types of political style that every individual must choose when interacting with others:

Machiavellian – plays other people off against each other to achieve his goals.

Organizational – persuades others to follow her for the good of the group.

Survivalist – “yes” man.

Straight shooter – always says just what she’s thinking.

Power broker – follow him or suffer the consequences.

Politics are what control every aspect of our lives. From laws, to the economy, to war.

This is why people need to be more motivated to be involved in the process, and be educated about thier elected officals locally, and nationally.

Politics is the process by which groups of people make decisions. The term is generally applied to behavior within civil governments, but politics has been observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic, and religious institutions.

Compromise and discussion taking a specfic stance or view point. People divide themselves into left wing center and right wing or indepedent or no wing.  Right wing is strong on military and wealth. Center a bit more for the people strong on the military. The left even more for the people through varying amounts up to citizen control of industry or cash. Then there are people against any Gov. They say rape of land result whoever is The Gov   of course the collectives these types propose are in way done by Farmer's Meetings but not the same. Collective meetings determine what everyone wants and discussion continues untill they get an agreement. Of course everyone knows this. Funny thing is wars instead of politics war done.
