I bought an air purifier and it said it has a positive ion field that makes my air ionized. What are positive and negative ions? How else do I make good ones and keep the bad ones away?

  1. positive ions are atoms with one or more less electrons, which were most likely given to negative ions (atoms with one or more more atoms) Salts (like NaCl (normal salt you put on your eggs)) consist of a pattern of positive and negative ions which makes them magnetically bind with eachother, this binding is so strong that salts need a very high temperature to melt. About ionized air, I think it's just plain nonsense, air consists of non-metals, so there cant be any positive ions (non-metals are always negative or neutral, the only take electrons).

  2. This is all a load. We're MADE of positive and negative ions. Those purifiers are a scam.
