I'm going there for a week on Sunday. I was just wondering what the general prices are for things...I've heard it's quite expensive, is there any reccomended places that may be a bit cheaper?

  1. Yes, if you go in the mountains there 20 km up above Nice, good food and drinks much cheaper but you will need a car for this.

Remember the French coast is always more expensive.

Also Cap Martin (near Menton) is a bit cheaper then Nice.

  2. Expensive. Right now the Euro is at an all time high against the Dollar. Last I looked it was $1.37 dollars for 1 Euro. So when you exchange your dollars you aren't going to get much. As far as best places to shop look for Monoprix stores.
