What are pros and cons for both cats and dogs?

What are good and bad things about both cats and dogs? I put this in the cat section because I like them better. :-D

Here are the pros and cons for cats

PROS:

They keep you company

They are cute{-)

They lay on you (Rarely)

Cons:

They puke (well mine does well i guess it is hairball sorry if you read this and you were eating or snacking{-( )

They poo a lot

They sometimes bite

They claw(rarely)

They like to lie where i was lying right after i get up

Dogs:

Pros:

They are good for protection

They are cute

Cons:

They bite (HARD)

They always get fleas

Well  both make good pets. Dogs need more attention but are easier to train. A cat will use a litter box, your dog will probably need to go outside. Either way you are cleaning up after them.  I love cats the best too just something about the way they just are, graceful and silly, and smart and goofy and most are cuddly though you never know. If you want a pet that will fawn on you get a dog if you want a pet that is more of a partner get a cat. Remember dog's have owners, cats have staff!

I think it all depends on what you are looking for. Dogs are hard work and need a lot of attention, at least in my opinion. But they are also loyal and loving and devoted. Cats are independent and moody. But also can be very loyal and devoted to you. You own a dog, a cat owns you. That is my take on it. But I prefer cats personally.

Pros for Dogs

Cute, Friendly, Show affection, dependant, playful, can teach them behaviors, taken them for a walk, show them, train them, take to dog parks, etc. They are loving, wonderful creatures.  Usually don't shed as much as cats. Most cats shed.

Dogs have a lot more personality than cats and are more affectionate.

Pros for Cats

More independent, don't eat as much usually, can be outside more often, can leave alone longer periods of time, can be cute, friendly, good companions, more calm than dogs, don't need to take for walks or exercise, etc.

There are dog people and cat people. I have had both and prefer dogs. Dogs love you more and show it.  Cats are more independent and do their own thing. Both are very cute and can make great pets if cared for and showed love and kindness.

You just need to see what fits your lifestyle better. Do your research first. Too many just go out and get a dog or a cat before knowing anything about the breed and care for the animal.

Personalities of dog breeds vary more than cat breeds.

Also, its best to adopt an animal from a shelter. There are so many wonderful animals in shelters that need a home.

Dogs

Pros - more social, eager to please, like to play and give/get attention, can protect, more easily trained

Cons - need to be walked, need to be trained, require more attention, can't be left alone as long as a cat, don't care if it's the storm of the century - they need out to go to the bathroom

Cats

Pros - can take care of any unwanted critters, quieter, cleaner, don't require constant attention, easier to move with and find places that allow them if renting

Cons - don't really take to training to do tricks and whatnot, "beware of attack cat" isn't a deterrent, too independent for some people

they are both good but it really depends on you & your lifestyle.

If your home a lot either can work, but....

If your out alot ........

a dog probibly wouldn't be good because the need to go out on a regular basis, they enjoy playing and companionship & can get board and with that be distructive.

a cat could work because they are litter trained & don't need to go out, they sleep alot during the day, as long as they have toys they'll play by themselves & when the want attention they will come running the moment you come home (if their awake)

In either case you must make sure your home at least twice a day to feed them. I hope this helps
