I keep reading questions about things you need for a new baby. People are talking about dumbies... I have never heard of such a thing. What are they?

  1. A dummy is a pacifier. It has a rubber or silicone teat that a baby sucks on for comfort.

  2. It's what Australians call Pacifiers. I don't know why, but that's what they call them here.

Except we spell it *Dummies* or maybe that's me.

  3. It's the term they use for pacifiers in GB and Australia.

  4. Dummy = pacifier/binky

  5. It's what Aussies call pacifiers. They spell it dummy or dummie though. Not dumbie, you dumbie. :)

  6. That's what we call a pacifier here in the UK

  7. I could be wrong but it may be the English version of a pacifier.
