  1. There are too many to list.

Rare merely refers to the chances of getting one in a starter box or booster pack.

You get a set number of Rares, Uncommons and Commons in each.

The rarity would not differ for Foreign edition magic cards...

  2. I think you are not asking the name of all the rare cards in Magic, but what does the "rare" concept mean.

There are four levels of rarity in Magic:

Common. These cards are easy to get, they appear 11 in a booster. They have a black expansion symbol.

Uncommon. These cards appear 3 in a booster. They have a silver expansion symbol.

Rare. These cards appear 1 in a booster. They have a gold expansion symbol.

Mythic. This is a new rarity. It will appear in the "Shards of Alara" expansion, in October 2008. It will be 2 times more rare than a rare card. Thes cards will have an orange expansion symbol.

Japanase, Spanish, Russian or any other language cards have the same rarity as their counteparts in English language. But some collectors will pay a little more for them, a 25% or even 50% more of their English versions prices.

    Hope this help. =D
