  1. The levels are nothing more than a name for the number of ratings you have made for your station.  They are just for fun, and are a way to encourage you to continue adding ratings.  You don't get any extra benefits for going to a higher level, other than in theory your station should be getting better at giving you music you like consistently.

A mistake many people make is to enter ratings that may not be that well thought out, just to advance to a higher level.  I was guilty of that myself at one time.  Now I advise that people should ignore what level they are at and just continue to add quality ratings whenever possible.

  2. Here's the answer from Yahoo! Help:

Rating levels are based on how many ratings you have and provide a summary of the depth of your station. The more you rate, the better your station, and the higher your rating level.

Following are the number of ratings required to achieve each rating level:

Rating Master: more than 10,000 total ratings

    Addict: 5,000-10,000 total ratings

    Fanatic: 1,000-5,000 total ratings

    Trendsetter: 500-1,000 total ratings

    Enthusiast: 250-500 total ratings

    Listener: 100-250 total ratings

Newbie: less than 100 total ratings

Personally, I'm a few hundred away from the addict level. I love Launchcast! I hope this helps. I'd also love to have you check out my station at http://music.yahoo.com/lc/?rt=0&rp1=0&rp...
