Rats are rodents that will eat anything that they can find.

Rats are a little bit better than mice.

And wild rats do bite but only if you are bothering them.

Also there are special types of Rats that can be kept as pets.

Rats are animals, they are mammals, they are rodents, etc. There are many species of rat worldwide, but the two most common and best known are the brown rat (Rattus norvegicus), which is the species to which pet rats belong, and the black rat (Rattus rattus), which is often blamed for spreading the Black Death, though it was actually spread by fleas. Rats are highly intelligent, and extremely adaptable and resourceful. They can eat almost anything and live almost anywhere. They are also, despite popular belief, very clean - they groom themselves more often even than cats. They're also adorable, in my own personal opinion!
