What are reasonably priced hotels in Florence & Rome for a honeymoon trip? Do I need a double or single room?

I'm currently planning a honeymoon for the end of Oct/beginning of Nov. in Florence and Rome. If anyone has any advice, ideas, or anything, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

You can sort the hotels by price, location and other criteria, and read reviews for many.  At that time of year prices in Florence will range from 45 euro a night to around 600 euro per night.

If you're on a honeymoon, I would assume you'd want a double.

Try www.venere.com myself and my partner got a hotel room from this site for a weekend break for 13th birthday present for my daughter.

Would recoment it also Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery if you wan tto go there it has to be booked 1-6months in advance and some of the gallerys you need passport/drivers licence other wise you ain't getting in.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

First of all a clarification: You need a double room. A single room means for one person, double for two. Be sure to specify a "matrimoniale" which is a room with a double bed versus a "twin" which is a room with two single beds. (One warning: most matrimoniale beds are really two twin beds pushed together and made up as one. The creates an unfortunate crack in the middle of the bed that my husband and I like to refer to as the "grand canyon." Not great for snuggling. You can request a French bed "letto francese" to get a regular American double.

As for a reasonably priced hotels. Depends on what you think is reasonable. Luckily you will be traveling in what is the shoulder season so you won't be paying high season prices. But remember that the Euro is strong against the dollar and Florence and Rome are expensive cities. I don't think you can get anything for much less than 100 euro/night in Florence and 130 in Rome for an average hotel. I could start listing hotels for you but without more info about what you want, it would end up being a very long and maybe not useful list.

Don't know about hotels but when in Florence the Statue of David is  a MUST SEE...you need a reservation to get into the museam to see it and  you can't make one on a Sunday...the Vatican is a beautiful place and the guided tour is well worth it...if you want to see the Pope he does a public appearance early Wednesday mornings..
