  1. Because someone with a bug up their hiney wont let it go on without whining that it isn't fair because they don't celebrate that way or they feel imposed upon.

    Those people bite.

    Life would be so much better if people just accepted things for what they are instead of reading an agenda into everything.

    ETA  I am a pagan and I will attend a function if it interests me... and it doesn't matter who puts it on because I know that they are just as passionate about their religion as I am mine... and I respect that.


  2. The legal reasons are direct from the US Constitution - the First Amendment provides for freedom of religion. The two religious clauses of the First Amendment are the Free Exercise and Establishment Clauses. Within these clauses are the limits to the provision of facilities for religious activities or demonstrations in public (i.e. government) facilities.
