  1. one of the major "things" in sociology is learning that a culture is defined by its institutions, which , if memory recalls are

family, peers, religion, government, military, religion, schools

( think i left one out)

all theses interact to define a culture, but they also usually work to support each other, and  the status quo of that culture. when one area gets more power you can observe the power struggle and the movement of power - and changes in the culture.  It's fascinating stuff.

  2. You really get to understand what this world is about. You get a more moral sence of this world. You get to learn the true intentions of this world.

For example people think of money right now as just something they make and they can use it any way they want because they earned it (assuming they didn't get it through illegal means) but what these people are really forgetting  is that this is just how our society is formed and works and in reality just because your profession pays more, or you won the lottery, or you inherited money, or you created one huge thing and made a life time of money on it your not actually more special then others. That it is just our capitalistic society! Yes thats it nothing more to your money (and thats just one example)

We could of all been equals we could of all stayed as cave men we choose this society

Thats why I like Sociology and lastly it doesn't discriminate against anyone its what our society is really like.

P.S. Ironically I have not take any sociology classes yet but will take one next semester (looking forward to it)

P.P.S. History and Political Science major in College
