  1. When I was younger my family and I were visiting Glacier National Park in Montana and we drove across the border to see the Canadian part and spend the night.  There were 7 of us in a big van and they didn't search us or anything.  However that was years ago..

You will need your government issued photo ID such as your driver's license and your birth certificate to prove citizenship.  You should obviously have the registration and insurance certificates for your vehicle.  It is a simple process.  You will be asked the purpose of your visit, how long you intend to stay, where you will stay, and if you are staying for an extended period you may have to show that you have enough money to live on while you are in Canada.

  3. Well a good place to start is to have your license and your birth certificate with you.

  4. You need to either own the car and have proof or have written permition from the person that owns the car.
