I'm going to Humber College (Lakeshore Campus) in the fall and am looking for a place to live. I am from out of town so don't know the area. Are there any areas of the city I should avoid (i.e. crime, poverty, etc.)? I would like to find a place close to the college that is safe and possibly close enough to walk or drive in under 20 minutes.

  1. I live on Dundas St. W not far from kipling. Its as safe as you can be safe. Its the suburban area. I like it. Anywhere in the kipling area towards mississauga is good. My sister goes to Humber College, it takes her 15 minutes by car from where we live. The subway is not far from us would take 25 minutes by public transportation.

  2. I lived in the Lakeshore/Kipling area. It's a pretty safe neighbourhood.

  3. the safest place in e-tobs is probably the kingsway

  4. If your going to Humber I would recommend then around the Bloor and Islington or Kipling areas, so if the car has problems your right near the subway stations and can get buses to the area around and to the college.

I worked on Bloor at Islington for awhile and in Kleinburg so I had to take the subway the station and when in Kleinburg, I had to ride the bus right to Steeles and catch a bus to my final destination, Etobicoke is quite safe no matter were you live, around the airport on Airport Rd is my only caution, even something above the 401 in the Rexdale Blvd area, and even up as far as Wilson your only a stones trow away there.
