What are shin splints???

What are shin splints? are they visible (could you show me one)? or are they muscular things? who gets them? where do they hurt (i KNOW the shins, but where where?)

  1. Shin splints are pains that shoot up the muscles in your shins, they aren't visible, just uncomfortable and sometimes painful. It's often caused by running and it only stops by resting, it can been relieved by stretching as well.


  2. They are muscle tears and can be quite painful. I had an aerobics instructor who described it this way: Shin splints are the slow separation of the muscle from the bone. Get it checked out by a doctor

  3. shin splints is a painful sensation you get around your shins. It isn't visible and it happens to people who do a lot strenuous work with their legs.
