  1. We tackled this issue in Interpersonal Communication.

    According to 2007 academia...

Men refer to objects (cars, ships, musical instruments) as 'she' because men are possessive.  It shows dominance and control, a key element in how men relate to each other.

  2. for good luck people name there ships with feminine names

  3. She ships sheal on tha she

  4. They always used to put carvings of women at the bow, usually of a mermaid, b*****s exposed..I'm not trying to be vulgar, it's the truth.

  5. Perhaps they're graceful, like a woman. But never mind - the liberals will change it shortly, just like they came up with stupid men's names for hurricanes.

  6. Because men control it.  Anything that men controls and sees it as a thing of beautify -in their eyes, they see it as a "she".   Ex: cars, boats, engine, etc... you wouldnt be hearing them call our jewelry a thing of beauty now would you.

  7. cuz the men rode the ships

  8. Because they are property.  Men used to (and some still do) think of women as property, so cars and boats were considered women.  Hurricanes used to be named after women only, also.  That was because men decided that they wreak havoc just like women.

  9. Because some things never change.

  10. Because for the first few thousand years of their used, they were manned by men.

Indeed, they spent enough time away from shore that the ship was the closest female companionship they had!

  11. I have no idea.

  12. they were the sailors' surrogate wives........

  13. Because many ships hulls have beautiful curves and soft clean lines, much like a womans figure and complexion.  To call a ship 'she' is a compliment.

Women can create living breathing thinking babies... men can't and the things they create pale in comparison.

We 'men' humor' ourselves by refering to those things dear to us as 'she'

Sometimes, it sucks to be a man. Women are the ultimate at creating beautiful things.
