  1. Tokyo, Imperial palace, Asakusa, Akihabara, Harajuku and Roppongi.

    Mt. Fuji viewing spots of the outskirt.

    Kyoto, many temples like Kinkaku-ji, Kiyomizu-dera etc.

    Hiroshima, Atomic bomb peace memorial and the museum.

    Onsen hot spas.Japanese restaurants. Japanese Sake manufacurere's plant tour etc.


  2. If you mean historic places, the four most significant ones would be:

    Kamakura, the oldest seat of government.

    Kyoto, the capital of the shoguns.

    Nikko, City of shrines.

    Tokyo, Imperial palace

  3. I am not exactly sure what you mean by significant. I am assuming cultural significance.
