  1. i hurd washing your hands  a lot is a form of ocd.

  2. Yes!! :) everyone has a little bit of ocd in them it is the way we are programmed for me it is making my bed every morning...however i am not one of those ppl who have it so bad that i need to wash my hands often. Some ppl have it really bad where they obsess over counting, cleaning, straightneing, washing...etc. So to answer your question yes there are much milder forms of it and everyone has a little bit of it somewhere in them. Obsessive meaning it has to be done, Compulsive meaning it has to be done repetitivly and right then. So i think most of us have the obsessive part but maybe not the compulsive part....hope this helps

  3. Well i dont know about all the forms but ive had it since i was a little girl. My pediatrition told my mom to start my treatment right away or it would ruin my life. well, i didnt get treatment, and im increasingly crazy. I have to touch certain things in the house a certain number of times. I turn light switches on and off repeatidly in a flickering motion. If i dont do it right, I do it again. I open and close drawers numerous times. I have to rewash every dish before I use it. If someone in the house touches a light switch or the can opener I have to clean the switch and wash the can opener. It becomes a real big problem to even eat some tuna fish. I get tired just thinking "i have to turn on the light, open the drawer to get a fork, wash a bowel, wash the can opener, open the cabinet"....its terrorizing my life. I think if i dont do things a certain number of times, something horrible will happen. And if i ignore it, something bad usually does happen and I blame it on the fact i didnt turn the light switch on correctly. Recently, my mom doesnt even like being aroud me....if she touched something, i will start panicing and making her go back and touch it again....numerous times. i retrace my steps in the supermarket...doing my best to walk in the same path twice. So my rant is long and useless huh? The point is, yes there are milder forms....but they get progressively worse. Im to the point i need meds.

and id like to add that yes it all started with a lot of hand washing and cabinet doors. but its much worse now. I go through a bottle of soap in less than a week...and they are big bottles. If i touch a doorknob or lightswitch...i wash my hands. i use the remote to turn on the tv...wash my hands...if i have to change the channel...i change it and wash my hands. ive started doing things with my toes to avoid hand washing. i open the fridge with my feet...doors with my feet....flush the toilet with my feet. im crazy. be careful. ocd sucks.
