  1. Sleep all day wile your not working .Simplest thing i could think of

  2. nothing

  3. Watch TV in the dark, esp the horror ones.

    eat candle light dinner

    take cold shower

sleep in the yard in summer

    LOL

  4. 1. Change all your light bulbs to CFL's -- you can get them cheaper at  stores like Costco or Target.  Although they might seem like more money at first, they last so much longer and use a fraction of the amount of energy that a regular light bulb uses.

    2. Unplug appliances when not in use.  As a previous poster mentioned, there is a "phantom load".  Electronics that are plugged in will use electricity even when not in use.  Plugging everything into a power bar and then just flipping that switch when you are not in the room is a good solution.

    3. Wash your clothes in cold or warm water -- never hot.

    4. Dry your clothes outside, if possible, during the summer.

    5. Run the dishwasher and washing machine only when you have full loads.

    6. Do not use the heat option to dry your dishes.

    7. Buy EnergyStar appliances next time you are in the market -- they are the most energy efficient ones out there.

    8. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

    9. Turn your air conditioning off or at a higher setting during the day and open the windows when you can.

    10. Take shorter showers (and not boiling hot either!)

    11. Keep the shades down on windows that get a lot of light in the summer, this will help to keep your room cooler.

    12. But locally grown/seasonable food when you can.  Locally grown requires less miles traveled from the farm to your table and helps support your local farmers.

    13. Use canvas bags instead of paper or plastic when you shop.  As a bonus, many stores will give you up to $.05 off per bag that you use.

    14. Eat vegetarian once/week (or more).  It takes an extradinory amount of energy to raise 1 pound of meat compared to 1 pound of grain.

    15. Stop junk mail and unwanted catalogs.  Junk mail uses tons and tons of paper each year, much of it winds up in landfills and it takes energy to be transported from its origin to your mailbox.

  5. turn your computer off all the way when done using it instead of putting it on stand by or just walking away and letting it run.

  6. turn off lights not in use,

use the energy cycle on the air conditioner or use a fan if it's cool enough

don't use the heat dry cycle on the dishwasher

use cold water for laundry when possible

don't wash lots of small loads, do less bigger ones

combine shopping/errand trips to get more done in one trip

  7. You can have a habit of turning off the lights when you don't use it. Instead of keeping on stand-by, switch off all the electrical items when you are not using. Turn off vehicle engine when traffic jams or waiting at traffic light. Sea vessels also can turn off as soon as finished anchoring or alongside on long waiting ques for supplies or refilling. Use a sail in boats when there is enough wind to sail it. Close the taps when brushing your teeth or shaving. use minimum of all the natural resources. Use renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuels. Example: a water pot can be cooked by keeping it in the sun with a light focused by a magnifying glass, so no need for an electric pot or gas burner for that purpose. And stop doing unnecessary things with any source of energy.

  8. Turn off lights, fans and other things when not in use.  Also, you can change your light bulbs to the energy saver ones.

  9. Some easy things are to unplug your microwave and other household appliances. Even when they are not running they use about 40% of the amount of energy they need to run just waiting on standby. Also turn off your printer when you know you won't need it for  a while it only takes a minute to warm up and you can save a huge amount of energy by not having it on the entire time you are on your computer.

  10. Stop driving & start walking/ cycling !

  11. when ur out of a room cut off the tv and light read more books instead of watching tv

  12. You never thought of shutting off the lights. Sorry, but you are an imbecile. Now try driving less, stop buying corporate c**p, and use less paper products at home.
