What are small insects in the high desert?

they look like small fleas, and jump similar but they thrive on the desert. Specially under rocks

  1. There are a number of primitive wingless insects that are small and little seen.  Some like springtails can occur in the millions.  There are others such as bristletails that are a little larger.  These insects are less well known and belong to the subclass Apterygota.  Many jump like a flea.

  2. Hmm. Given that they live under rocks, they might as well be land shrimps. However, they like humid weather. Was it raining? I highly doubt that they are even small rock grasshoppers because rock grasshoppers hide on rocks but not under.
