  1. There's the Metra Rail, which you can call at (312) 322-6777 or visit their web site at http://www.metrarail.com/. Amtrak at (312) 756-0935. Atlantic Railway at (312) 341-1026.

Hope that get you around town.

  2. Amtrak passenger trains use Union station as its main depot in Chgo.

Metra is the main commuter line which uses Union Pacific, North Western, BNSF, and old Rock Island rail lines.  Metra serves Union Station, the Ogilvie Transportation Center formerly the North Western Station and LaSalle St Station.

The South Shore Line which serves Michigan and Indiana commuters uses Millenium Park Station and others.

CTA is the intra and inter-urban rail line whic serves Chgo and closeby suburbs.

All of these except the South Shore are under the umbrella of the RTA, regional transportation authority.
