Look for things that are similar to each other, whether in shape, style, or color and bring those all into the room onto a shelf and maybe displayed throughout tables. Use the triangle method of three items in each area spaced far enough from each other that they make a triangle shape. Say, you have three large decorative vases. Place one at the back, far left/right. Place the second about four inches from that a little bit forward. Place the third a hand's length away from those. If you want to add items to this, make them different but matching items and stay within the triangular pattern.

You can always completely rearrange your decorative items as well. Take everything small that's in one room and move it out to the main room and vice versa.

It will make you and your guests feel like you've got new stuff and you don't have to spend a dime.
