What are some HEALTHY ways to test your willpower?

  1. quite smoking, cut out sweets, do regular exercise, abstain from s*x, stop spending money frivalously    .... do you need more?


  2. Don't let yourself do something you enjoy until you've "earned" it.

    If you have some free time, don't spend it watching TV or on the computer. Do something you don't particularly enjoy -- like cleaning, etc. Set up an expectation for yourself and then deny yourself an activity or food that you really, really like until you've met that goal.

    You're testing both your willpower to deny yourself something you want, as well as testing your ability to stay on track to reach your goal.  

  3. Set a goal in your studying or working performance, and try to achieve it.

    Such goals require thinking, planning, and everyday effort. It can take a few weeks to a few years. Don't you think your willpower will be best tested that way?
