What are some REALLY REALLY EFFICIENT stretches for me to get my right, left and middle split?

I know I have to stretch, but I want to do stretches that will REALLY improve my flexibility.

  1. There are numerous stretches you can do to improve flexibility. The first is easy as to do the spiltz twice a day every way.

    There is also one where you lie on the floor on your back and have one leg bent and the other you pull over your head. Once you are able to touch the floor you can stretch your bent leg so you are in the upside down spiltz.

    Also doing 'froggy' or 'butterfly' where you bend your two legs in and try to get them to touch the floor. This helps your turnout to do the splitz. Once you get this down you can also try to touch your head to your feet.

    Another is to just touch your head on your knees when they are stretched out in front of you. This loosens the hamstrings allowing you to become more flexible. Once you get this flat you can also try it standing up.

    Also, doing any pilates stretches would be benificial for dancing as pilates improves flexibility. Try to sign up for a class.
