we play and me and Wifey/Mommy are sick and tired of getting our heads handed to us by a 9 yo...lol...just kiddin of course

You miss the whole point. There can be only two reasons why you lose:

a) You have not understood the basics of this game. Trick is, buying properties is how you win this game.

b) You are pathetic. You try to win a 9 y.o.? You should be ashamed of yourself. There is fun in letting him win everytime.
