What are some VERY romantic restaurants in Niagara Falls?

My sister's bf wants to propose this Friday!!! In Niagara Falls. He hasn't decided on a restaurant. What have your experiences been like? Have you heard of any good restaurants in that area? Do you have any recommendations for me? Please don't refer me to a website.

There is The keg inside the embassy suites, it has a fantastic fallsview, he can let the staff know his plans to get a special table. Not extremly fancy, but nice. There is also one inside the brock hotel with a fallsview, it is where marilyn monroe stayed and ate in the 50's.

Actually if they are willing to drive I would go to niagara on the lake because there are some great restuarants there.If they don't mind the price & like seafood (though they do have meats there too)I would check out The Blue Mermaid.It is not a very big restaurant & the service is great.This is  one of these resturants that you really take the time for you to enjoy your meal (down side no view the upside because of the expense there won't be kids & such). I went there once & loved it.

Just an idea for something different other than the falls.

I went to The Brock Hotel at Niagra Falls.  It's really beautiful.  Very old world looking.  Nice romantic restaurant. Here's some info.

I know the america side used to have better food. Would an Italian restaurant be good?

How exciting!

Someone mentioned the Keg, I would advise against it.  The food is okay (sub-standard, compared to other Kegs), and the dining room is *always* packed.  It does have a beautiful view, but hardly what I would call "romantic", definitely NOT private.

If your sisters BF is willing to forgive the view to go a little outside of the tourist area, then I definitely would recommend Casa Mia.  Located on Portage road, and the restaurant will arrange for a taxi to pick them up from the hotel, take them to dinner, then bring them back.  When he calls to make reservations, let them know of the occasion and they will be sure to give them a nice quiet table (although the whole dining room is pretty quiet).  This is one of the BEST restaurants in Niagara Falls, a favourite among locals.

If he prefers to stay in the immediate Fallsview area, then I recommend 17 Noir in the Fallsview Casino.  You get the amazing view, but not the crowds.  Its a little pricey, but well worth it, especially for such a special occasion.
