I have a student with IEP minutes and his goal is basic compliance within the classroom and accepting authority. Any ideas on activities I can use to work with him during my pull out time would be great!

  1. First, read his file and find out why he has an IEP.  This may help.  Ask your older, more experienced colleagues.

In what capacity are you allowed to pull out this student?  Are you a School Psychologist?  An aide, what?

  2. You have pull out time to work on compliance??? Sounds like an odd way to work on compliance. I guess it would depend what the compliance is around.. what issue. If I had to do it in pull out I would probably try to simulate what other types of activities he is being non-compliant with in class. I would provide rewards/ incentives for following directions and use consistent language and warnings for not following directions and I would make sure the classroom teacher also has this information to generalize your lessons to the appropriate setting.
