  1. 4 chamber hearts are found in all mammals and most other animals. three chamber hearts are found in some reptiles, such as snakes. these have a left atria, right atria, and one ventricle. deoxigenated blood is sent to the right atria, then into the ventricle, then into the lungs where it accumulates oxygen, then into the left atria, back into the ventricle, and from there it is pumped into the body. this is beneficial because of the constant blood flow and it helps with the regulation of body temperature as reptiles are cold blooded, or exotheremic, meaning there body temperature is regulated by their environment.

also for note, fish have two chamber hearts becuase instead of lungs they obtain oxygen from their gills in which the water flows in the opposite direction against the direction of their blood flow and therefore the heart is needed only for circulation and not for the seperation and aiding in the oxygenation of blood.

  2. the advantages are that it makes it easier to maintain body temperature because they are coldblooded

  3. the only "thing" with a 3 chambered heart is some reptiles there are also animals with 0,1 and 2 chambers to the heart. what are the benifits?.. i dont know im trying to find out for my studies.

  4. I think she was referring to amphibians and reptiles, which do have three chambered hearts.  The disadvantage is that oxygenated and unoxygenated blood mixes.  In mammals, the four chambered heart allows complete separation of oxygenated and unoxygenated blood.
