  1. I have practically been aroudn the world and never saw an airport that is walking distance from the city, unless it is a city airport which most major cities have.

  2. Charleston International in South Carolina

  3. Phoenix

    San Juan, PR

    Montego Bay, Jamaica

    Washington D.C

    Cozumel, Mexico

  4. Sky Harbor in Arizona.

  5. London Heathrow!  We had a very long layover there on the way to Tanzania.  We took the Tube out into the city (not THAT long of a ride) and saw some great stuff in just a few hours.  That's the only time I've ever been to London, too!

  6. City Airport, London, u could walk to the center from there... but why would u want to? nobody walks in london, not even one bus stop. i know im a bus driver lol

  7. none if they are large airports unless you consider 5 miles walking distance.

  8. San Diego's airport is right in town. Tobago's airport is down the block from several beachfront hotels.

  9. reagan nat'l airport has a metro stop in front of it, and can take you anywhere in dc from there.

  10. Walking from an airport to something of interest is pretty difficult. San Diego Lindbergh is probably a walking distance of 2.5 miles from downtown. I imagine that is the shortest actual walk in the world.

There are a number of places that are very short distances by public transportation. Reagan National, San Francisco, Portland Airport, La Guardia in New York. Nearly all of the major airports in Europe have some kind of train or subway to downtown.

Shanghai has the world's fastest airport connector (7 minutes 20 seconds to go 19 miles), however, it is a matter of some debate if the city terminus is a point of interest.

    ------------

All the major airports in Japan have at least one rail connection to downtown. Narita airport has at least two different rail connections. Heathrow has two rail connections to downtown. An extension of the underground opened in the mid 1970s, and the Heathrow Express opened in late 1990s.

  11. Arnold Palmer

  12. The closest airports to city situations that I know of are:

    Las Vegas

    Washington DC = Reagan

    San Diego

Because of the size of airports in general, the WALK would be fairly long in all instances.    To put in prospective, the cab ride from any one of the airports mentioned above would be around 10-15 to get to downtown.     Compare that to New York City with a $60 cab ride or Orlando with a $40 cab ride.
