Something easier for someone to pronounce that has never heard that name before.

  1. sun

  2. Stick with the real spelling. It's not that uncommon of a word, since most people would have heard it from Cirque de Soleil or the razors, so there's no use confusing them more by coming up with some odd spelling. It's a gorgeous name as it is.

  3. I heard that name before. I shave with it every day. Great razor.

  4. Solay (jkjk). Soleil is fine, people will know how to pronounce it. Who hasn't heard of cirque du soleil?

  5. The only thing I can come up with is Solay.  Then the name loses its beauty to me (reminds me of Frito-Lay).

If you like the meaning of the name then here are some other suggestions:

Abellona ... feminine form of Apollo who is the Greek sun god

Cymbeline ... or Celtic "sun lord"

    Cyrah ... "Throne; sun."

Eldora ... "Gift of the sun."

    Elektra ... "The fiery sun."

Eliana ... May also be related to the Greek "elios" meaning "god of the sun" ... and the name may thus mean "daughter of the sun".

Helen ... "Sun ray; shining light."

    Idalia ... "Behold the sun."

    Kalinda ... "The sun."

Kyra ... from the Persian and Egyptian word for "like Ra, the sun"

Solange ... A fanciful meaning for the name is "angel of the sun".

Thea ... mother of the sun, moon, and dawn
