Is it really limited to research (eg. for a University) or are there fields that Physicists are highly sought after by large corporations?

If you can specifically name certain positions I would appreciate it, but anything is appreciated.

  1. Really the only well-paying job with physics would be teaching at a university level, and that is hard to get to. Most universities require a PhD in the subject.

  2. well the package is srely high for electronics engineer . initially it might be 6 lakh per annum but it can go to 13lakh in just 3 years. companies to look for are stm, freescale,  ti, cypress, etc.

  3. Hmm, Chris have you considered the pornography industry? I know it's a little out there, but they get paid darn well. It's just like a friend of mine, he wanted to do something in the area of science, he did a science course for a little while then became a p**n star. He's so happy now and is glad that he took up p**n at exactly the right time and didn't continue on with his stupid science course.

  4. Maybe an energy physicist. You could work for british gas or powergen and calculate how effeciently their energy is being produced or how to make it cost effective.

By the way engineering is another option though to get a decent salary, you must be the best so it's quite hard.
